Have you heard of High Dynamic Range?

Some of the coolest pictures i’ve seen are taken using this technique. One of the best known HDR(High Dynamic Range) photographers around the Internet is a guy by the name of Trey Ratcliff. He has written an awesome tutorial on how to produce these images. You can see it below.

I hope to get the opportunity in the next few weeks to experiment with this a little bit. I need to get a few other software programs it looks like before I can.

Check out his top 100 flickr photos.

It would be really cool to have the opportunity to travel like that.

New York Baseball is looking good.

On a day that is sure to break the hearts of Minnesota Twins fans, Johan Santana has become a Metropolitan. The deal doesn’t return any high profile prospects or big league players to the twins, 2 of the 4 players involved are not even on a 40 man roster for the mets. Santana brings 2 Cy-Young’s to the Mets and is sure to be in contention for another. The Met’s pitching staff went from mediocre to very good after this deal. Now with the Met’s staff looking as good as it is, and the Yankee’s staff having as much potential as it does, could we possibly have another Subway Series coming up? Let’s hope New York gets it’s act together with both teams!

On a side note, I wonder how expensive it is going to be to get Yankee tickets this year?

Dpreview to do Lens Reviews

My favorite photography website for camera information is by far dpreview.com.  I have them listed in my links list and have been viewing the site for as long as I have owned a digital camera(a few years now).  My only gripe with them thus far is that they didn’t have reviews of lenses.  When I bought my Nikon D40 (chosen from their reviews) I wanted to expand it’s capabilities with a new lens.  dpreview.com is the first place I turned and came up empty handed.  Sure there are a bunch of other places to get reviews on Digital Camera Gear, but this is the best.

The good news is that they have a new lens review section! Sure they only have 2 canon lenses and 2 Pentax lenses to start, but let’s hope they get the Nikon Lenses review quickly.  I’m looking forward to their opinion and tests of the new Nikon 60mm F2.8 Micro AF-S Lens.

Wiley’s Birthday

Today is Wiley’s Birthday. 4 years old! Getting old little man.

What’s better than being backed by a Kennedy?

Senator Edward M. Kennedy called Barrack Obama a ‘New Generation of Leadership’. I can’t really imagine too many names bigger than the Kennedy’s to be backed by in a political race.

Kennedy promises to campaign aggressively for Obama. “It is time now for Barack Obama.”

Donations to Obama hit $525,000/hour after SC win

Two weeks after Obama won the Iowa caucus he was victorious in South Carolina with 55% of the vote. Hopefully this will kill Hilary’s momentum.
