Another No Decision For Mike Tarsi

Mike threw again last night for the first time since the all star break for the Beloit Snappers.  He had a rough first inning with a couple bleeder hits.  The Snappers ended up winning the game 8 to 5.

Tim found a link to a great writeup on Tarsi, which can be read here.

Corvette Zr1 Pricing annouced: $165k?

Chevy announced the official pricing for the corvette zr1 and it is not $165k, but it is $103k plus $10k for the only option to the car. Based on the value and the rarity of the car, i can’t imagine anyone being able to pick one up for anything close to the MSRP of $117k with the only option, chrome wheels and the gas guzzler tax.  What are those options?  Upgraded seats, side air bags, Bose audio, a nav system, Bluetooth, power tilt/telescoping steering wheel and a leather-wrapped interior.  Not a bad value at all for a car with over 630 horse power, that goes 0-131 in 11.3 seconds(quarter mile) and still gets 20 miles to the gallon on the highway! My mom’s volvo wagon barely gets that! Kudos to Chevy for kicking ass! Oh yea, it goes 0-60 in 3.4 seconds and tops out at 205 mph!!!

Another Win for Mike Tarsi

Tars pitched saturday and threw 6 innings giving up 2 earned runs, walking 1, striking out 4 and giving up only 5 hits to earn his 4th victory.  This brings mike’s record up to 4-7.  The snappers ended up winning the game 8 to 6.  Mike’s era over the past 10 games is down to 3.86  and his overall era is at 5.33.   The Snappers are heading into their all-star break.

Justin brought his corvette over to the house the other day. I snapped a couple pictures of it.

Fishing on the Sound

We went fishing on long island sound over the weekend with Tim, Mike, Pete and Jenn. Right as we were about to head back in we caught a 34lb striped bass! It was a good time.

No Decision for Tarsi

Mike Tarsi started last night for the Beloit snappers and threw 6 innings giving up 3 earned runs and allowing only 6 hits.  He walked 3 but none of the walks scored.  After walking 2 with 1 out, he came back to strike out back to back hitters.  Tars struck out another 7 as his change up was nasty, for a total of 50 on the season.

Tarsi came out in the sixth in a tie ball game.  The snappers gave up 2 more in the top of the 7th but came back scoring 3 in the bottom half to end the scoring and take the win at 6-5.  Their record improves to 34-30.
Mike’s era has dropped to 3.43 in his last 10 games.  He is continuing to bring down his overall era, currently at 5.53.
