275 MILLION!

275 Million doesn’t get you much anymore huh?  For some teams, it can get you a whole club of players for 2 seasons!!  But for the Yankees it gets you Alex Rodriguez.  There are many arguments for and against whether or not he is worth that kind of loot, but to me, the answer is a simple YES.  A-rod might not have helped the Yankees with a championsip yet, but he hasn’t helped anyone else either.  It would be a stab in the back if he had left for Boston and won the series his first year…

Good decision Yanks!

Rocket’s Return; Yanks winning streak.

Roger clemens returned to the hill Saturday June 9th against the Pittsburg Pirates. I hear it was a good game, I was too busy to watch, celebrating my little sister’s highschool graduation, but the Yankees finally seem to be clicking. The pitching i still terrible, and the hitting wont’ last forever, but they have hit a 6 game winning streak and won 8 of thier last 10. That is impressive for a team that is still under .500! Once we hit that .500 mark, we can set our eye on the Red Sox. Wait a second, my eye is already there.

There is no reason why the Yankees can’t turn this season around. As soon as we get some solid pitching performances, our winning will continue and will increase. The Red Sox need to keep their eyes on the rear view mirror in that pinto they are driving. We all know, they will crash.

A-Rod; Yankees finally win one.

Last night A-Rod yelled something while running past the Blue Jays third baseman causing him to drop the ball. Some say that is poor sportsman-ship, and I agree. However, I am not going to criticize Alex for his move. He is doing what he needs to do to help the Yankees win. Maybe this little bit of criticism will help get them motivated. They are in LAST PLACE 13.5 games behind the Red Sox. This is simply not acceptable. Do what you have to do to win.

Yankees: put up or shut up

The lone highlights to the season seem to be Alex Rodriguez and his league leading home runs and the batting average of Derek Jeter. The yankees continue to have no success from an injured Mike Mussina, who has been topping out at just over 88 mph where as he normal can hit upwards of 92 mph. The past series with the Red Sox was a must win and normally taking 2 out of 3 games from the sox is satisfying, not sweeping really hurts. The Yanks are still 9.5 games back and we are almost a month from the all-star game. The front office needs to find some pitching and they need to do it fast.
