Corvette Zr1 Pricing annouced: $165k?

Chevy announced the official pricing for the corvette zr1 and it is not $165k, but it is $103k plus $10k for the only option to the car. Based on the value and the rarity of the car, i can’t imagine anyone being able to pick one up for anything close to the MSRP of $117k with the only option, chrome wheels and the gas guzzler tax.  What are those options?  Upgraded seats, side air bags, Bose audio, a nav system, Bluetooth, power tilt/telescoping steering wheel and a leather-wrapped interior.  Not a bad value at all for a car with over 630 horse power, that goes 0-131 in 11.3 seconds(quarter mile) and still gets 20 miles to the gallon on the highway! My mom’s volvo wagon barely gets that! Kudos to Chevy for kicking ass! Oh yea, it goes 0-60 in 3.4 seconds and tops out at 205 mph!!!

Z03 Corvette

Ugur Sahin has designed a modified corvette with completely carbon fiber body panels. Take a look at the pictures below. It’s very different…

You can see some design cues from the c3 generation of the vette.  I like what he did with the rear of the car, c3 feel with the shape of the current c6 generation.  If he gets to make the 100 he wants it would be 150kg lighter than a standard Z06 featuring the standard engine package of 505hp and a 700+ hp option.  This car would definately set you apart from the average joe corvette owner.

First production Corvette ZR1 goes for $1 million

Check out autoblog for the details, but the first production ZR1 went for $1 million! Dave really couldn’t wait! The good news is that $900,000 of that will benefit the United Way charity. Get to support a good charity and get a great sports car!

2009 Corvette ZR1 and a little history

Coming to a Detroit Autoshow near you in January 2008 will be the new corvette zr1. GM will be limiting this 650 hp SBC monster to less than 1500 units at a price tag of around $100,000. The ZR1 or “blue devil” is expected to sport the all new supercharged 6.2 litre motor. All of this should not be news to you.
